Events and Updates

On November 9, 2022, the first Wood County Foster Care Conference was held at the Parkersburg Country Club. Area agencies and community partners gathered together to discuss the state of foster care within Wood County. Guest speakers included Steve Tuck, the Foster Care Director for the Substance Use Disorder Collaborative; Marilyn Pearce, Assistant to the DHHR Cabinet Secretary for Children's Programs; Laurea Ellis, Social Service Manager for Wood & Wirt County DHHR; Cathy Grewe, Coordinator of Assessment & Student Services for Wood County Schools; and Bob Boone, President of the Bernard McDonough Foundation.
